Sammy Davis Jr

Bookmark and Share
Sammy Davis Jr. was an uncompromising, original entertainer. He had it all from head to toe; singing, dancing, acting  all done in absolute excellence. He started his career as a child  in vaudeville with his father and "uncle" as the Will Mastin Trio. He is well known for singing  Candyman and Mr. Bojangles and those two songs were in fact  his least favorites. Mr. Bojangles because it was a song about a dancer in his declining years, and it brought Sammy Davis Jr.  face to face with his own inevitable destiny, and Candyman, well, it was just downright corny according to him, but it made him a star and  a headliner in Las Vegas.
